War in Donbas
Since 2014 Ukraine has defended itself against aggression from Russia-led forces in the eastern Donbas region.
The contact line is 457 kms long, the same distance as London to Paris.
This Russia-Ukraine war has so far affected 4.4 million people and displaced 1.6 million. An estimated 14,000 people have been killed and approximately 30,000 injured.
Over 3,300 of the dead were civilians.
