Marine engineer Le Guilvinec, France.
Marine engineer from 'Diougoant Mecanique Marine', installing a trawler's new propeller in the dockyards of Le Guilvinec, France.
The local fishing-related industry is very dependent on the landings of the fleet and consequently they live in a fragile co-existence. It is said that one fisherman at sea equals 3 - 5 jobs on land.
According to a local shipyard, one new fishing vessel is built every three years on average, while the production was as high as nine per year in the 1980s/90s.
