The Karen, Thai-Burma border, 2004
Young Karen girl and her mother in the Lep Per Her camp.
After the previous camp was burnt down by the Burmese military in 2002, the occupants were forced to live on the banks of the Moei river, being restricted in crossing into Thailand by the Thai military.
Even so, the teachers insisted that the children continue with their schoolwork and still held school everyday - "We do our best and sacrifice all that we can because we have a vision for all these children to become educated people" (volunteer teacher for IDP children).
